Sonic Fresh is a company providing Mangoes and other agricultural goods for export. After drilling a borehole for their farm, the organisation constructed kiosks and a commercial water arm to serve the surrounding community with low cost, clean, reliable water. This has grown from a single kiosk to a network of 5 kiosks and over 150 household connections.
After providing a grant to support Sonic Fresh’s initial piped water connections, the Stone Family Foundation have provided a further combination of grant and concessional loan funding to enable Sonic Fresh to scale up their impact arm and connect 200 additional households in a nearby town to their piped water supply.
With this investment, we are looking to demonstrate the ability for enterprises to expand into piped water in rural / peri-urban areas, reach breakeven and demonstrate ability to repay loans through household connections.
