ELPHRODS is a digital WASH credit provider committed to expanding access to safe water and sanitation services in Kenya. Through innovative financing solutions, we empower communities to invest in improved WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) infrastructure, enhancing public health and resilience. Their approach leverages WASH loans, enabling households and businesses to afford essential services such as pit latrine upgrades, new sanitation facilities, emptying services, piped water connections, and water storage solutions.
With both grant and debt funding from the Stone Family Foundation to digitize and increase working capital, ELPHRODS is implementing a project Affordable WASH Financing, designed to bridge financial gaps and drive sustainable improvements in water and sanitation access. By offering tailored financing solutions to households and institutions, we aim to demonstrate that well-structured microloans can unlock demand for WASH services, making them more accessible to underserved communities.
This project is a proof of concept for scaling innovative WASH financing models, showing that communities are willing and able to invest in their own sanitation and water needs when given the right financial tools. Through this initiative, ELPHRODS is not only improving lives but also creating a replicable, sustainable model for expanding WASH services across Kenya and beyond.
