$436,000 grant funding from 2018 to 2019
SNV is a capacity development organisation working in 38 developing countries globally.
SNV has been working with provincial and district governments in Cambodia to deliver the Sustainable Sanitation and Hygiene for All programme, a comprehensive programme which integrates demand creation, strengthening of sanitation markets, implementing hygiene behavioural change communication, governance, and gender and social inclusion.
After four years of implementing this district-wide approach, the Government of Cambodia declared Bantheay Meas the first open defecation free (ODF) district in Cambodia in early November 2016. Two other districts, Chum Kiri and Basedth, have also made substantial progress thanks to SNV’s support.
The Foundation is providing support to SNV in all three districts, focused on achieving and sustaining ODF, and ensuring waste from pits is safely managed.
