iDE is an international NGO with more than 30 years of experience in market-based development and focuses on agriculture, WASH, and finance.

iDE creates income and livelihood opportunities for rural, poor households. By designing business models that embrace the poor as business owners, sales agents, producers and employees, iDE creates a self-sustaining climate of opportunity.

iDE is active in eleven countries across Asia, Africa and Central America, with teams living in the provinces, districts and villages where the work is undertaken. The approach is rooted in human-centred design and tailored to fit each market’s context.

iDE has been active in Cambodia since 1994, working with small enterprises and value chains to deliver social and economic benefits that are inclusive and sustainable. Each year, its WASH programme in Cambodia enables more than 90,000 rural households to access sanitary latrines and clean water filters through sustainable market channels.

The Foundation is supporting iDE’s Sanitation Marketing Scale-Up (SMSU) 2.0 programme in Cambodia.
