$250,000 equity investment
Spring Health works with the poorest customers in rural India on water, health and sanitation.
Spring Health operates in 234 villages in Odisha, an eastern state of India, and serves 19,875 families daily. The company uses chlorination and filtration to purify groundwater and supply it to customers in the village. The business is run by an entrepreneur in the village, while Spring Health provides support with marketing activities and developing the business.
The company has a revenue sharing model with the entrepreneur, helping to increase the income of the entrepreneur. Spring Health also employs local people in its sales and marketing team, creating jobs at the local level and helping prevent migration to the urban cities.
The Foundation has provided a programme related investment to Spring Health to expand operations in Odisha.
