Oxfordshire Mind

£220,000 | Funding from 2015 to 2018

Oxfordshire Mind has been operating for over 30 years and exists to promote good mental health through responsive services with active service user participation. Though affiliated to the national mental health charity, Mind, it is run and funded as an independent charity.

In partnership with other agencies, Oxfordshire Mind deliver well being and psychological services as well as housing, benefits and recovery provision, in support of people with both common and more severe mental health problems. Operating countywide, Oxfordshire Mind reaches over 10,000 people a year.

The current funding from the Foundation is supporting the running of the Mill in Oxford, enabling the well being, recovery and social inclusion of people with severe and enduring mental illnesses.

The Mill has a key role challenging stigma locally, by opening its doors to the public for art exhibitions, concerts and talks. Service users also act as mental health champions at local events and festivals, to raise awareness in the local area.

The Foundation first began supporting Oxfordshire Mind in 2011.
